Photos from ‘Throw Your Heart Over the Fence’

Last year, Helena Stretton’s story was published in our anthology ‘Terracotta Travellers and other stories of life’. She wrote about her sadness over the felling of three mature trees in her backyard and her neighbours’ backyards.

A portion of the fence that needed to be repaired afterward.

In the sadness of loss and financial burden of subsequent repairs, Helena experienced God’s provision and grace. You can read Helena’s story in Terracotta Travellers and other stories of life.

Do you have a story of faith to share? We would love to read about it, and encourage you to write it down and shape it into a short story of either 1500 words or 500 words. Our Writing Video Series has many helpful pointers on how to get started and how to find your voice. After writing your draft, you may wish to submit it in June for feedback, given at no cost to you, by one of our editors. We have found that receiving good feedback can help writers to enhance the retelling and impact of their true stories. We will return your draft to you with time for you to keep working on the story before making the final submission by the end of July.
