In 2020, this story draft ‘All the same words but two’ was submitted during Feedback Month. Dr James Cooper sent feedback to the writer and we’re sharing it here today with her permission. We know that it can be daunting to ask for feedback, so we hope that by seeing how Feedback Month works, you will be encouraged to send us your drafts too. (This year we’re sending feedback via email, rather than by video.)
After receiving the feedback, the writer changed the title of the story to ‘Promised Rescue’ and incorporated many of Dr Cooper’s suggestion. It was selected for publication in our 2020 anthology, The Swimmer, and also read out that summer on 1079 Life. You can listen to the audio version in our archives.
